Business Development Manager - Northeast

Job Description
As a Business Development Manager, you will work with internal teams and leaders to increase sales opportunities, thereby maximizing revenue for the organization. You will identify new customers, present to them compelling solutions, and convert them into clients committed to growing their Belimed base of business.

In this senior level sales role, you will also help manage existing clients to maintain user satisfaction and strong reference accounts. Additionally, you will play a role in improving Belimed’s market position and achieving annual financial growth targets. You will be define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Territory: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware

Compensation: $80,000 + commission

How you will impact Belimed and our clients
New Business Development
  • Prospect for new clients within targeted segment to increase organizational revenue.
  • Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of opportunity throughout designated area of coverage. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging assigned network.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients at key levels throughout the organization.
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop solution proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. 
  • Present solutions that create the ultimate desired outcome for the customer.
Client Retention
  • Present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Business Development Planning
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Management and Research
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Forecast sales targets on quarterly basis and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Track and record activity on key accounts and help to close new business and meet/exceed financial targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s goals, purpose, people and capabilities to help influence continual organizational success.
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of successful technical, capital medical sales experience
  • Exceptional customer service skills and focus, including the ability to build strong partnerships characterized by mutual trust and respect
  • Ability to quickly read the business landscape and recognize each customer’s processes, functions, and roles
  • Effective communication and listening skills, with the ability to quickly summarize and articulate customer issues and concerns
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethics, even during times of high stress and pressure
  • Action oriented, with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively negotiate with Belimed and the customer in mind
  • Excellent time management, concentrating on the most important priorities and segmenting accounts based on potential opportunities.
  • Ability to quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal, eliminating roadblocks and creating focus
  • Proficiency with sales documents and contracts, purchase orders, and financial spreadsheets and reports
