dormakaba is seeking a Plant Manager

 

Location:

  • Indianapolis, IN

 

Position overview:

  • Leads day-to-day operations
  • Maintains operational efficiency in one of the most technically challenging manufacturing facilities in dormakaba USA
  • Guides and directs the management team to robustly fulfill orders in a low volume, custom order, quick ship (JIT) environment
  • Leverages knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Kaizen, 5S and other techniques to improve safety, increase quality, enhance delivery, and increase efficiencies to reduce cost
  • Develops, directs, and implements policies, objectives, and activities
  • Safely & profitably operates the facility and generate favorable cash flow
  • Develops the team to achieve both business goals and lean objectives as assigned by the company
  • Develops and maintains performance metrics to monitor progress and keep Sr. Leadership informed of status, challenges, accomplishments, and opportunities for improvement. Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports these results to Senior Management

Job Requirements

 

Education/Experience requirements:

  • Expert knowledge in practicing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement
  • ERP Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (required) (SAP experience strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferred) (Industrial Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplines)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred) (e.g. MBA)
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification (required) (Black Belt strongly preferred)
  • 15+ years of strong experience in manufacturing, management, and engineering encompassing all functions of plant operations (required)
  • Metal Machining Operations (required) (i.e. – Punch Press, Deep Draw, Screw Machines Press, brake, welding, laser, etc)
  • Commercial or Residential Access Control Manufacturing Experience (preferred)
  • 5+ Years Security / Hardware Industry(ies) Experience (preferred)
  • Process Improvement experience (required) (Lean/TPS, VSM, Six Sigma, SPC, &/or TQM, etc.)
  • Strategic Operations Horizon / Paradigm: Hoshin Kanri / 3 yr Decision Delivery Matrix (preferred)
  • International / Multi-National Business Experience (preferred)
  • Global Sourcing Experience (preferred)
  • Spanish – Fluency a Plus (but not required)
