Purpose

Maintains all plant equipment and facilities mechanically and electrically. Includes performing mechanical repairs/installations, electrical repairs/installations, welding and fabrication, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, maintenance/operational inspections, participating in developing improvements, participating in improving safety at the plant and assisting Operations in their duties when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Safety – Working in a safe manner AT ALL TIMES. Adherence to safety policies, regulations and standards. Participates in safety programs and improvement (developing ideas and installations). 
·        Environmental – Compliance with environmental permits/operating requirements (to include understanding permit requirements), environmental incidents, and environmental improvement.
·        Decision making – Makes safe and responsible decisions independently regarding daily routine responsibilities and issues. Also understanding when to consult with others for solutions.
·        Preventative/Predictive Maintenance - Performs preventative and predictive maintenance activities on all plant equipment as per schedule/requirements.
·        Electrical - Performs basic electrical duties as required which consist of working with 480V systems (breakers/starters/wiring), disconnecting and properly reconnecting 3 phase motors, working with 110V wiring and systems (power panels), conduit and conduit fittings. Troubleshoots electrical issues as required.
·        Instrumentation - Repairing/replacing various control equipment throughout the plant. Troubleshoots instrumentation as required.
·        Mobile Equipment - Services and repairs mobile equipment as required, including: excavator, front end loaders, trackmobile, UTV, welding pickup trucks, 10 wheeled trucks (water truck and dump truck), forklifts, and manlift.
·        Mechanical Repairs: Consisting of belt conveyors, gearboxes, fans, blowers, pumps, air compressors, piping, valves and any other mechanical equipment at the plant.
·        Welding and Fabrication - Consisting of general welding on plant equipment and fabrication as required with MIG and Stick (SMAW), mainly carbon steel but could include stainless steel and AR steel. Also includes the use of cutting torches, plasma cutter and general metal working tools/equipment
Compliance with plant policies/procedures in accordance standards.
·        Equipment – Ability to learn operation of all plant equipment including forklifts (Class IV, VI and VII), manlifts/aerial lifts, welding trucks, water trucks, large front end loaders, excavator, trackmobile and locomotive.
·        Flexibility - Performs operations duties as required which includes large front end loaders, excavator/material handler, and UTV.
·        Performs other duties as required and/or directed.


Job Requirements

·        2+ Years experience in maintenance environment. 
·        The ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, permits, operating and maintenance instructions.  
·        Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 
·        Understand basic math to calculate figures/amounts and interpret graphs.  
·        Ability to troubleshoot and solve practical problems.  
·        Must be able to perform a variety of physical tasks and be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.  
·        Must have correctable vision to see near and far objects, peripheral vision, depth perception, and be able to distinguish colors.  
·        Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which can/will consist of welding PPE, respirators and any other required PPE for specific tasks. 
·        Able and willing to conform to maintenance schedule which can require to be on call during off duty hours normally in a rotation.
